Obituary

Gilford-----Stephen Hugh Dawson, 66, retired Lieutenant Colonel of the US Army, peacefully passed away surrounded by the love of his family members on Friday, April 8, 2016.

After traveling much of the world through his military service, he settled in New Hampshire, where he spent many of his childhood years, to build a family of his own. Upon settling in Gilford, Steve opened up the deli “Pickle Lily’s” with his sister Nancy. Steve devoted his life to taking care of his family, and giving back to the community through his employment with Gunstock and his service for the Community Action Program in Laconia.

Steve is predeceased by his mother and father, Florence and Hugh Dawson. He is survived by his adoring wife of 36 years, Elaine, his son Patrick Dawson and wife Angela, his sister Nancy Clark and family, and his brother John Dawson and family. He is also survived by his many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 3:00 - 5:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Memorial Service will follow calling hours at 5:00pm also at the Funeral Home.
