Mrs. Vivian Gertrude (Artz) Gibson, a resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late LeRoy J. Gibson, passed away at the Country Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Newburyport on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2016. She was 87 years old.
Born in Jamaica Plain on July 2, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Mary E. (Slaurenwhite) Artz. Mrs. Gibson enjoyed playing Bingo and going to Foxwoods. She also enjoyed cake decorating and crocheting. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was the loving mother of Dennis W. and his wife Alexandra Gibson of Chelmsford, Marjorie A. and her husband Alan Marsh of Nottingham, New Hampshire, Douglas E. and his wife Patricia M. Gibson of Peabody, Brian R. and his wife Diane Gibson of Methuen and Donald K. Gibson, cherished grandmother of eight, dear great-grandmother of three and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Frances Scribner, Muriel Walker, Aileen Fondacaro, Carl Artz and Brenton Artz.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
