Gerald M. “Jerry” Mattie passed away at the Woburn Nursing Center on April 8, 2016. He was 78 years old.
Jerry was a longtime resident of Malden and a United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He retired from the Telephone Company where he worked for many years. Jerry was a longtime member of I.B.E.W. Local 2222 and American Legion Post 45 in Medford.
Jerry was the beloved husband of 51 years to the late Geraldine (Miraglia) Mattie. He was the loving father of John Mattie of Stoneham and his companion Patricia Schulte, Robert Mattie of Malden, and Vicki Sheehan and her husband Michael of Tewksbury. Jerry was the dear brother of Mary Spencer, Michael Mattie, and the late Ann Melchionde. He was the cherished grandfather of Joshua, Julienne, John Jr., Robert Jr., and James Mattie, Jordan and Riley Sheehan and the late Joseph Mattie. He is also survived by his great grandchild Joseph Mattie and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday April 13th at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 11:30 a.m. Please go directly to church. Visiting hours will be held at the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday April 12th from 4-8p.m. Interment will be private.
