COVEL, John J. age 84, of Needham, formerly of Arlington, April 2, 2016, beloved husband of Alice B. (Caldwell) for 62 years. John worked for General Motors Corporation, AC-Delco Division, for 40 years as an account executive. He enjoyed time with his family, travel with his wife, keeping abreast of current events and teaching his family all the latest technology applications. Devoted father of Catherine Quinlan and her husband Bernard of Needham, MA, Maureen McLean and her husband Michael of Walpole, MA and Barbara Carter and her husband Michael of Wayland, MA. Also survived by six grandchildren, Laura Quinlan-Hug (and her husband Michael Hug), Sean Quinlan, Brian, Megan and Brittany McLean and Michael Carter and two great granddaughters, C.C. and Anna Hug. Also survived by three brothers Albert, Francis and William Covel and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Delia (Reilly) Covel and brother James Covel.
A visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave. Needham on Tuesday, April 5 from 9:30am - 11:15am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Needham at 11:30am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
