HARDY, Barbara M. (Parsons) Of Needham formerly of Somerville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children. March 27, 2016. Beloved wife of the late William Hardy. Daughter of the late Robert and Rita Parsons. Loving mother of Susan Nichols and her husband John, and Barbara Gouthro and her husband Dennis all of Needham, Mary Ann Hardy and Kelly DaSilva of Dedham, and William Hardy and his wife Agnes of Chepachet, RI. Cherished grandmother of Christopher and Elizabeth Nichols, Matthew and Andrea NIchols, Dennis and Luisa Gouthro, Michelle Nuzzo, Peter and Lauren da Silva, and two great-grandchildren Marilyn and Grace Nichols. Sister of Margaret Coakley of Wellesley, Carole McCusker of Billerica, Michael Parsons of Brighton, John and Kenneth Parsons of Lynnfield, and the late Robert, Mary, James, Catherine, William, and Rita. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and much loved in laws.
Barbara was born and raised in Cambridge. She moved to Somerville and spent many happy years there raising her family. She later moved to Needham to be near her children. Barbara's life was devoted to her children and grandchildren. They were her world. She was happiest surrounded by her family. She will be sorely missed.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., NEEDHAM, Friday, April 1 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Needham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours at the funeral home, Thursday, March 31 from 4-8pm. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
