Obituary

On March 21, 2016 Sam Patti, formerly of Methuen MA, 86 years but still young at heart, passed from our earth. He died as he steadfastly took his last stand doing precisely what wanted to do, out on a drive, enjoying his family with a burger in his belly and his signature Starbucks Frappuccino in hand. His amazing determination to never give up, to live his last days vigorously, excited and engaged, despite a devastating diagnosis, matched his unique personality and exhibited his unwavering resolve and devotion to those he loved and so desired to protect.
Sam's life was all about hard work and he was diligently committed to providing for his family. He was a cabinet maker/ builder, an ice cream lover, a golfer, a lobsterman, a fisherman and a family man. He was determined, very organized, quick minded, generous and adamant. In retirement he continued to use his carpentry skills in support of his partner and children, developed expertise in bargain shopping and internet navigation and evolved into a foodie who loved to cook, watch Food Network, as well as dine out regularly. In Florida Sam adopted a personal fashion statement - a white t-shirt - sometimes food stained, elastic waist shorts and floppy sandals. An affection for collecting pens/markers, pocket knives and using twist ties and labels to increase efficiency/organization are part of the joyful memories he left behind.
Sam was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 47 years Beatrice Molloy and is survived now by his loving partner Arlean Damurjian, his daughters Darlene Horsfield and Christine Bedard, his son James Patti, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his sister Anna Mariano and family.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday March 29th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 30th at 12 noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Boxford, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
