Irene D. McCarthy (Annis) of Milton, formerly of Sharon passed away March 19th surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Sharon, she graduated from Sharon High. Irene worked for many years as an Administrarative Assitant for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in the Pathology Department and also for and also New England Medical Center as an Administrative Assistant. Mrs. McCarthy ran the Sharon Pop Warner Cheerleading for many years and was a member of the American Legion Auxilary in Sharon. Irene also operated a ceramics store in Sharon for many years. Beloved wife of Joseph V. Loving mother of Carrie A. McCarthy & her significant other Joseph Doran of W. Bridgewater, Joseph V. McCarthy, Jr. & his wife Heather of Brockton, William P. McCarthy of NC and Cindy I. Richard & her husband Derek of Milton. Devoted sister of Barbara Bowden of Easton, Darlene Annis of St. Petersburg, FL and the late Robert Annis. She is survived by her grandchildren: Alicia, Jared, Cole, Carly, Ryan, Ashleigh, and Brayden, her great-grandson Zackary, and many neices & nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton on Wednesday 4-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11:00. Interment private.
