Jeritt W. Goulart, 76, of Dartmouth died Thursday February 11, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Patricia M. (Napier) Goulart.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Charles and Otilia (Santos) Goulart, he lived in Dartmouth for the past 40 years.
Mr. Goulart was formerly employed as an automobile mechanic at the City of New Bedford Police Department garage until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army Airborne.
He was a member of the Portuguese-American Social Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Torey Steele and her husband Robert, Susan Vargas and her husband Rick, and Jody Szala, all of Dartmouth; his stepchildren, Melissa Nunes and her husband Joseph of Dartmouth, and Kevin Amaral and his wife Lucy of New Bedford; a brother, Brian Goulart and his wife Colleen of Rochester; a sister-in-law, Joan Goulart of Dartmouth; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Warner Goulart.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial with military honors will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-7 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
