Aldina M. Ferreira, age 79, of Berkley, passed away on February 12, 2016 at Morton Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel S. Ferreira. Born in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Jose Medeiros and Dorvalina Tavares. Prior to retirement she worked at Ideal Bias Binding for over 25 years.
Aldina is survived by her children MaryLou Albernaz (husband Messias) of Berkley, Jose M. Ferreira of Fall River, Isadore “Zeto” M. Ferreira (wife Nelia) of Açores, Adelino M. Ferreira (wife Patricia) of Fall River and Paul M. Ferreira of Fall River; siblings Mariano DeMedeiros, Conçeicão Paiva, Almerinda Sousa and Maria Do Carmo Barbosa; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joe Barbosa.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday here at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Santo Christo Church at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
