Brigadier, Valcena Elizabeth Bernard,(age 97), passed away in Boston on February 8, 2016. Daughter of the late Vashti and William Henry Walters. Beloved wife of the late Brigadier Lebert Nathaniel Bernard. Loving mother of Farida (Joy ) Bernard, Saundra Bernard-White, Mearlene Bernard-Grimes and Barbara Jean Bernard. Cherished grandmother and adored great grandmother and great great grandmother to many. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday February 17, 2016 from 9-10:30 AM at the Salvation Army Kroc Center,650 Dudley Street Dorchester followed by a Funeral Service beginning at 10:30 AM. The Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain.
