Normand G. Bileau, age 74, of Norton, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved and adoring husband of the late Maureen A. (McGrath) Bileau
Born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island on October 1, 1941, he was one of fourteen children of the late Joseph and Rina (Berard) Bileau. He grew up in Woonsocket and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School.
Mr. Bileau spent his working career as a meat cutter. Prior to retiring, he had worked at Stop & Shop in Norwood and formerly at the former Fernandes Supermarket in Norton, the Wrentham Food Mart, O’Clairs Market in Dighton and the Chartley Country Store in Rehoboth.
Normand was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton where he was wed to Maureen, the love of his life, on June 1, 1962. He remained a resident of Norton since that time on.
Normand loved spending time with his family, especially with his late wife Maureen who he proudly cared for till the time of her death on October 15, 2012. When younger, they along with their children enjoyed many special weekends spent at White Horse Beach in Plymouth and when older, he and Maureen looked forward to yearly vacations spent in Bermuda.
He is survived by his devoted children David G. Bileau of Maine, Lori A. Blanchard and Rebecca A. Pike both of Attleboro and Holly A. Mendonca of Dighton. He was the cherished grandfather of Adam and Ashley Blanchard, Stephen and Victoria Pike and Tyler Mendonca. He is also survived by his great grandson Kyle Ducharme, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private.
