New Bedford – Robert D. Medeiros, age 68 of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday February 7, 2016 at home peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Julianne (Abbott) Medeiros and the son of the late Virginia (Frias) and William D. Medeiros.
Born in New Bedford, Mr. Medeiros lived in this area all of his life and worked as a Correctional Officer for The Bristol County Sheriff's Office for many years until his retirement.
His family includes, 3 sons: Kevin W. Medeiros of Fairhaven, Kraig R. Medeiros and his wife Alison Bilodeau – Medeiros of North Dighton, and Kory P. Medeiros and his wife Shannon E. of New Bedford; 6 grandchildren: Conner K. Medeiros – Sweets, Max W. Medeiros, Mya F. Medeiros, Molly V. Medeiros, Alec R. Bilodeau, and Cole A. Bilodeau and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late William and Raymond Medeiros.
In accordance with his wishes Robert will be cremated a memorial mass will take place February 27 at 10 A.M. at St. James Church. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
