McGOWAN, Evelyn M. (Malley) Of Medfield formerly of Franklin and Dedham, February 5, 2016. Beloved wife of the late Leo T. McGowan Sr. Devoted mother of Terrence McGowan and his wife Colleen of Falmouth, Maureen N. Davis and her husband Raymond of Wrentham, Leo T. McGowan Jr. and his wife Nora of Medfield, and the late Patrick McGowan and Eileen McGowan. Also survived by 9 grandchildren. Sister of the late Marie McHugh, and Edward and Jack Malley.
She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Moylan, PA and Chester Hospital Nursing Program (RN). Joined the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII and served at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. She retired in 1990 from Boston College Health Services, Chestnut Hill. She was a member of the Wolcott, CT Nurses League, a volunteer for the Feast of St. Rocco’s, Franklin, MA, Eucharistic Minister for the parish sick, St. Mary’s Church, Franklin, and Treasurer of the Legion of Mary, St. Mary’s Church, Franklin.
A visitation will be held at St. Susanna’s Church, DEDHAM, Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 8:00-9:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in Old Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale.
