2/1/2016

Anthony R. “Frankie” Montuori, of Medford, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1st in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital of Melrose. He was 87.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary J. (Forte) Montuori. Following his high school graduation, Frankie joined the U. S. Army and obtained the rank of Private First Class. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked as a painter for private companies and later taught at Medford Vocational Technical High School. After retirement, Frankie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Family was very important to him. He was an easy going man who took his responsibilities as a husband, father and grandfather seriously. Frankie was a loving and caring husband to Phyllis. He was always helpful and helped her adapt to everyday life. A problem solver, he was someone you could go to in your time of need. In his spare time he enjoyed hands on projects. Some may have called him “Mr. Fix-It” as he enjoyed fixing and remodeling furniture and household items. Frankie loved to garden and enjoyed growing various vegetables, flowers and herbs. He also enjoyed boating and being out on the water.

Frankie was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Ciampa) Montuori, with whom he shared 62 loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Donna Downes of Portsmouth, NH, and the loving grandfather of Alyssa Watson of Wakefield. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Saturday, February 6th at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
