Services for Bobbie Jean Zapalac Tarter of La Grange will be held on Saturday February 6, 2016 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange at 2:00 PM.
Bobbie Jean Zapalac Tarter of La Grange, died on February 2, 2016 in Austin after a short battle with lung cancer.
She was born in La Grange on December 2, 1953, the daughter of Sylvester and Evyline (Dvorak) Zapalac.
She was raised in Ellinger and La Grange, she graduated La Grange High School in 1972.
She worked at Monument Hill Nursing Home for many years as a housekeeper. She enjoyed family gatherings, dominoes, crocheting, watching old western movies, and trips to the beach.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Anna Zapalac and Vaclav and Mary Dvorak, father and brother Kenneth Zapalac.
She is survived by her mother; daughters, Tracy and husband Louis Simek of La Grange and Melanie and husband Landry Bertsch of Plum and Jennifer Tarter and Bradley Betsch of La Porte and one son, Matthew Tarter and wife Casey Trout of La Grange; one brother, Sylvester (Sonny) Zapalac and special friend Terry Pitts of Victoria; sisters, Janice Krueger of Columbus, JoAnn and husband Barry Holcomb of Pearland and Gloria and husband John Drabek of Sugar land; nine grandchildren, Breeanna, Makayla, Dylan, Jacqueline, William, Mason, Morgan, Isaiah and Wyatt.
Memorials are suggested to charity of one’s choice.
Fayette Memorial Funeral Home of La Grange is in charge of arrangements.
