R. Bernice Becotte, 89 a resident of Salisbury, MA, formerly of Methuen, died on Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lawrence on November 22, 1926 to William J. & Rita (Walsh) Halloran. She was educated in St. Mary’s Grammar School and she was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence. She was an attendant of North Eastern University in Boston. She worked as a Social Worker for the Department of Welfare in the City of Lawrence until her retirement. She loved to paint and was an avid artist, as well as gardening, singing & dancing, also the beach. She loved and adored her family especially her grandchildren.
She is the wife of the late Robert G. Becotte, and she is survived by her five children: Shauna Becotte of Salisbury, Paula Goggin and her husband Jack of Salisbury, Robert G. Jr. and his wife Catherine (O’Rourke) Becotte of Newburyport, Jamie Becotte and her husband Steven O’ Connor of Amesbury, Patrick and his wife Maria (Kannan) Becotte of Haverhill. 8 grandchildren: Sara, Robert III, and Meredith Becotte, Curran, Riley and Flannery O’Connor, and Jaclyn and Lauren Becotte. Sisters Dorothy Woodworth of North Andover, Eileen Crowley of Haverhill, her brothers: William J, and his wife Dorothy Halloran of Hampton, NH and Fred and his wife Fran Halloran of Lawrence, as well as several nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:30AM at Star of the Sea Church in Salisbury, MA.
