Laconia-----Diane D. Dargy 69, of Shore Drive died Friday, January 29, 2016 at Lakes Region General Hospital.
Diane was born September 23, 1946 in Tilton, daughter to the late Robert Simpson and Evelyn LaChapelle. Many remember her smiling face as the lunch lady at Pleasant Street School. She worked for the school for over 35 years before her health made her retire in 2013.
Diane enjoyed bingo, reading, baking, dancing, trips to Foxwoods, going to the beach and was an avid Boston sports fan. Her two greatest joys in life came from her grandchildren and her work at the school. She loved watching the boys play sports and the girls dance recitals. Diane took great pride in raising her girls as well as being involved in the everyday lives of her grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Roger Dargy, her two daughters, Tracy Cathcart and her husband Ron and Amy Jones and her husband Aaron, four grandchildren, Jaimee, Brooke, Rowan and Carter all of Laconia, her brother, Maurice "Moose" Simpson and his wife Linda of Pittsburg; three sisters, Carol Benjamin and her husband Al of Golden Colorado, Helen Pouliot of Franklin and Ginny Martel and her husband Bruce of Campton.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Andre Bessette Parish-St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia.
Burial will be private.
