James “JD” Jackson, II
Augusta, GA – Mr. James “JD” Jackson, II age 73 died on January 29, 2016. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 2, 2016 in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Harold Herd officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service beginning at 3:00 P.M.
JD was the oldest son of James D. and Iris Jackson. He served in the Marine Corp Reserves for 6 years and retired from Georgia Natural Gas Company after 40 years of service. JD was a member of the Smokehouse Hunting Club. He also enjoyed fishing at Clarks Hill Lake and cooking outdoors. His family will always cherish the rib dinners he provided over the years.
JD is survived by his brothers: Sidney Jackson (Mary) of Greenwood, AR and Dana Jackson (Vonnie) of Edgefield, SC. He is also survived by nieces: Jennifer Jackson of Charleston, SC and Katie Holland (Sean) of Greenwood, AR and; nephews: Will Jackson (Brooke) of Augusta, GA and Dr. Steven Eubanks (Dr. Amy) of Bremen, GA. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his nephew: Sid Jackson, II of Searcy, AR.
The family wishes to thank his caregivers Pauline and Sarah for their kind and compassionate care of JD during his illness. They would also like to thank Trinity Hospice for their support and care.
