Obituary

Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather
Went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on January 27, 2016. A kind and gracious man, he always had a smile, a generous heart and a clever wit, especially for his children and grandchildren. He lived his life selflessly serving the ones he loved. His family was his most cherished priority and gave him great joy throughout his life. He modeled integrity and diligence, mixed with a little humor, to those with whom he worked. Preceded in death by parents Fred and Rose; sister Mary; and brother Tom. Survived by wife Mary Daley; daughters Bridget Arms (Joe), Meg Ellefson (John); son Dan (Jenalisa); his six grandchildren Eddie, Kate, Davy, Ellie, Johnny and the apple of his eye, Lucy; brother The Rev. Fred C. Meyer; many nieces and nephews. Born in St. Paul April 1, 1937. Served in the US Army 1956-58. Graduate of Cretin High School and The College of St. Thomas. Sacristan and usher at Church of St. Peter, sports enthusiast and fisherman. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday (1/30) 10:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul. The staff treated him with dignity and loving kindness as he made his journey to heaven. Special thanks to Janie, Tom, Hari and the HealthEast Hospice Staff.
