Joanne J. (Favuzza) Ceraso passed away peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 84. Born and raised in Boston’s North End she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Salvati) Favuzza. A Saugus resident for most of her life, she lived the past year or so in Stoneham. Joanne was a wonderful person who was very active in the Winthrop Ladies Lodge of the Order of Sons of Italy in America. There she held officer positions and was instrumental in the affairs of the Lodge. She enjoyed bowling and was her team’s captain. Joanne was devoted to her family and enjoyed many long and happy friendships. She was especially happy to be with her grandchildren.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph S. Ceraso, she was a devoted mother to Laurie Milward of Glen, NH, Christine Fusco of Melrose and the late Karen Ceraso who passed away in 1974. She was a loving grandmother to Derek and Janelle Milward, Daniel and Serina Fusco as well as a loving great-grandmother to Joseph Milward. She was a dear Godmother to Lillian LaRosa Mahoney and dear cousin and friend to Angelo Marotta and Sandra LaRosa.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, January 30th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family on Friday from 4 thru 8 PM.
