Francelina A. Gaspar, age 97, passed away on January 26, 2016 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife to the late Alfred P. Gaspar. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Antonio & Antonia (Camara) Aguiar. Francelina was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society. Prior to retirement she worked in the garment industry for many years. She loved playing BINGO and being part of group activities. She especially loved spending time with her family. Francelina shared anything she owned with others, especially earrings and chocolate.
Francelina leaves behind her daughters Barbara Gerraughty of Fall River and Arlene Cabral (husband William) of Hudson, MA. She was a Gold Star Mother to her predeceased son Lance Corporal Alfred J. Gaspar. Along with her daughters she is survived by her grandchildren Michelle Kelly, Aaron Gerraughty and Tricia Silva and her great-grandchildren Lauren Kelly, Brynna Kelly, Jack Gerraughty, Jenna Gerraughty and Allison Silva.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River Saturday with extended calling hours from 8-9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in SS. Margaret & Mary Chapel at the Catholic Memorial Home at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
