Dorothea Mello, age 82, of Fall River, formerly of Lindsey St, passed away on January 25, 2016 at Catholic Memorial Home. She was the beloved wife of Albert C. Mello. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Emily (Costa) Moniz. Dorothea loved trips to the casinos and played Bingo. She also enjoyed cooking, especially baking and spending time with her friends and family.
Along with her husband she leaves behind her children Jay Mello (companion Robert) of Assonet and Debra A. Mello of Fall River; sister; Deolinda Venancio of Fall River; granddaughter Farrah Mello (husband Shane) and great-grandson Shane Brewer Jr. as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Diamentina Medeiros, Evangelina Carvalho, Laura Dunham, Georgina Moniz, Emanuel Mello and Mary Mello.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Friday here at 10 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 11 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Thursday from 4-8 P.M.
