Maria "Mary" P. (DeRose) Williamson, a lifelong resident of Somerville, passed away on Sunday, January 24th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. She was 61.

Born in Cambridge, she was raised in Somerville and was the daughter of the late Frank and Velma (Toggnorelli) DeRose. Mary attended local schools and following her high school graduation, Mary became a Para-professional in education, where she worked up until her retirement. Mary loved teaching her children at school. She later married her husband John in 1983 at the former Sacred Heart Parish of Medford. In her spare time, she enjoyed the outdoors with her animals and watching soap operas.

Mary was the beloved wife of John S. Williamson Jr., with whom she shared thirty-two loving years of marriage. She is also survived by her loving dog, Princess.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Saturday, January 30th from 10 to 11 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's name may be sent to the M.S.P.C.A. - Angell Memorial Animal Hospital, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
