Laconia-----Donald W. Smith, 73, of 765 Union Avenue died on Saturday January 23, 2016 at Laconia Rehabilitation Center.
Donald was born in Columbia the son of George and Lillian (Higgins) Smith. He had been a resident of Laconia since the early fifties. Donald worked with his brothers for many years as a carpenter and also did maintenance work for Melcher & Prescott Insurance.
Donald is survived by one son, Steven Smith of Laconia; a grandchild, Ashley Hatch and her husband, Brendan, of Weare; four brothers, Gordon, Bill, Howard and Roland and a sister, Regina Sweatt. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son Michael Smith in 2007 and by 4 brothers and one sister.

Graveside services will be held in the spring.
