Dartmouth – Dolores Mendes, age 84 of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday January 23, 2016 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the loving wife of the late Manuel T. Mendes and the Daughter of the late Anna (Mendonca) and Louis Cabral.
Born in New Bedford she lived in this area all of her life and worked as a stitcher for various garment companies for many years until her retirement.
Her family includes 2 children: Steven L. Mendes and his wife Tammy of East Freetown and Manuel Ronald Mendes and his wife Susie Moniz of Lynn, MA; 3 grandchildren: Shane Westgate, Austin Mendes, and Camdin Mendes. She was also the sister of the late Marie Moniz and Ronald Cabral.
Her funeral will be on Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 8:45 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Julie Billiart Parish at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
