Obituary

FALL RIVER…William A. Barresi, 76, of Fall River passed away January 21, 2016 at his home.
He was the husband of Madeline (Machado) Barresi of Fall River.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Anthony and Nellie (Cuillo) Barresi and had been a lifelong resident of this city
Mr. Barresi worked as a Superintendent for the Fall River Housing Authority for 35 years prior to his retirement in 2001. He was active with the former Columbus Little League for many years, was past Commissioner of the Bank Street Armory and when he was young, received the Young Man of the year award. He loved all sports, especially the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Along with his wife, survivors include a daughter, Petra A. Carpenter of Swansea, his sons, William A. Barresi, II, Jay Barresi and his wife Michelle and Ponch A. Barresi and his fiancée Jen Medeiros, all of Fall River, his grandchildren, Teddy Barresi, Mark Barresi, Chelsie Carpenter, Madison Carpenter and Aubrey Carpenter.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday at 8:30 AM from the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Holy Rosary Chapel, 120 Beattie St, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM. Cremation to follow.
