Theresa J. Calderone, 85 of Taunton passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday January 19, 2016 at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. She was the loving wife for 61 years of Donald E. Calderone of Taunton. Theresa leaves behind her children Donald Calderone, Jr. and his wife Antoinette of Charlton, Kevin Calderone and his wife Andrea of Norton and Cheryl A. Caeran and her husband Richard of Mansfield. Mrs. Calderone was a proud grandmother of Michael Caeran, Daniel Caeran, Stephanie Caeran, Laura Caeran, Hailey Calderone and Eric Calderone. She was a loving sister to 7 siblings and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born on November 27, 1930 in Boston, Theresa lost both her parents by age 11. She grew up in the neighborhoods of Dorchester and South Boston and after meeting and falling in love with her husband Donald they began their life together in the West End of Boston. Twenty-Six years ago they moved from Dorchester to Taunton and were proud to call the city their home.
Theresa had many talents. She worked within realty management, primarily managing and assisting elderly housing complexes for many years. Mrs. Calderone was an excellent cook and she enjoyed hosting holidays. For fun, Theresa would play cards and head to the casino to play the slot machines. She really enjoyed watching the Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox. Her most true talent and passion was her family. She will be remembered as an incredible mother and loving grandmother. Theresa will be forever loved and missed by all those who had their lives touched by her.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday January 21st from 5-8pm at Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St/Rte 140) TAUNTON. A Catholic funeral service will take place at 8am in the funeral home on Friday January 22nd. Burial will be in private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
