John H. Guilmet, 75, a resident of Salem, NH, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at his sister's home in Londonderry, NH.
Born in Salem, NH, John was educated in the Salem NH schools and was a graduate of Woodbury High School. He attended both Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, and St. Anselm's College in Manchester, NH. John then went on to graduate from the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston. He had been an employee of Malden Mills for 27 years. John had served as a United States Navy Veteran. He was a big fan of horse racing and going to Rockingham Park.
The son of the late John H. and Alice (Beliveau) Guilmet, family members of John's family include his sister Fern D. Keeler of Londonderry, NH, a brother George R. Guilmet and his wife Rachel of Acton, ME, nieces: Cynthia E. Brackett and her husband Robert of Merrimack, NH, Pamela R. Hughes and her fiance Norman Grindle of Amherst, ME, and April A. Guilmet and her husband Jaegan LaViolette of Hudson, NH.
John is also survived by 4 grandnieces, 2 grandnephews, and 1 great grandnephew. He was predeceased by his great grandnephew Javier A. Gonzalez.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. in Sts. Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 40 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial will follow in the Veteran's lot at the Pine Grove Cemetery, also in Salem,NH.
