Barbara C. (Eberle) Bramwell, age 87, of Norton passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Bramwell, to whom she was wed for over 50 years at the time of his death on January 22, 2002.
Born in Newport, RI on September 9, 1928, she was a loving daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Collins) Eberle.
Barbara grew up in Newport and was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School. She furthered her studies, receiving an associate’s degree in business administration from Bryant College.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Bramwell was the co-owner of Pleasant Pharmacy, a former longtime landmark in Attleboro, which she and her late husband operated with the assistance of their children.
Barbara’s family was the focal point of her life and she especially enjoyed spending time with her adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She also enjoyed cake decorating and will always be fondly remembered for her famous sugar Easter eggs. Her other interests included knitting, crocheting and gardening.
She is survived by loving and devoted sons Bradford K. Bramwell and his wife Pauline, Stephen M. Bramwell and his wife Carol, Jeffrey A. Bramwell and his wife Nancy, Gregory P. Bramwell and his wife Patricia, Mark R. Bramwell and his wife Michelle, and Todd A. Bramwell and his wife Nichole all of Norton. She was the dear sister of Jean Malott of Taunton, William Eberle of Norton, and the late Walter “Dutch” Eberle, Dorothy Roach and Miriam Etter. She is also survived by her cherished 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, January 21st at 10:00 A.M. in All Saints Episcopal Church, 121 North Main St., Attleboro. Burial will follow at the Norton Common Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 20th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Cops For Kids With Cancer, 14 Michele Lane, Braintree, MA 02184 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
