BROWN, William J. “Billy”, of Winthrop, January 13, 2016, after a long illness. Beloved son of the late Joseph W. and Cecile P. (Cyr) Brown. Loving brother of Linda A. Donahue of Winthrop, Helen M. Janielis of Peabody, and Kevin J. Brown and his wife Jacqui, of NH. Also survived several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral from the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Sat, January 16, at 10am. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited. Cremation to follow will be private. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Huntington Disease Research Unit, Mass. General Hospital 55 Fruit St. Boston, MA, 02114. Billy was a retired Police Officer for the Town of Winthrop Police Department and was a Veteran of the US Navy.
