Obituary

LACONIA – Douglas Paul Monahan, 80, of 30 County Drive, formerly of 71 Depot Street, Belmont, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Belknap County Nursing Home in Laconia.
Born on April 26, 1935 in Belmont, the son of the late Joseph P. and Bertha M. (Sturgeon) Monahan. Douglas worked for Scott & Williams for 17 years, for Arwoods for 27 years and New Hampshire Ball Bearing for four years, retiring as a Quality Assurance Inspector. He enjoyed working in the garden, yard work, bowling and relaxing on his porch.
He is survived by one brother, Richard Monahan, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Bonnie-Jean (Hardy) Monahan in 2011 and one sister, Janet Monahan.
There will be no calling hours.
A funeral service will be held at 10AM, on Monday, January 18, 2016, at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Carriage House entrance.
Burial will be held in the spring in the family plot at St. John’s Cemetery in Tilton.
