Gloria M. (Whiteway) Rawlinson, a 45 year resident of Charlestown and a former 22 year resident of Dorchester and Bath, ME, entered into eternal life in her home following a brief battle with cancer. She was 84 years of age.
Gloria was born in Bath, Maine on September 25, 1931, a daughter of the late Ernest Whiteway and Nellie (Harmon) Whiteway. She grew up in Bath where she was educated and attended high school. Gloria worked as a waitress at the Coach Grill for over 30 years until its closing, and later worked as a waitress for the Harvard Faculty Club until her retirement. Gloria was devoted to her faith and most of all to her family.
Gloria is the beloved wife of the late Walter A. Rawlinson. She is the devoted mother of Evelyn Brann of San Antonio, TX, Annemarie Rawlinson of Charlestown, Walter Rawlinson Jr. of Everett, Kenneth Rawlinson of Haverhill, and Susan Rawlinson of Charlestown. She is the loving Nana to 6 grandchildren including her beloved late grandson Steven Jones, and also 7 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Donald, Penny, Lucy, Billy, and the late Dickie, Bobby, Pauline, Barbara, Beverly, and Jimmy.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Gloria’s Funeral on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill Street, Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 55 Warren St. at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Gloria's visiting Hours will be on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the Funeral Home.
