Theresa (Larocque) Demers, 75, a resident of Methuen, died at her home on Monday, January 4, 2016 with her loving family by her side.
She was the seventh child of fourteen born on July 21, 1940 in Plessisville, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Alphonse and Maria (Lapointe) Larocque. She was educated in Canada before moving with her family to Lawrence, MA in 1957. The love of her life, Jean-Claude Demers followed her from Canada, and they soon got married and raised their family. She worked at various companies while raising her family, and retired from TXC Printing in Salem, NH in 2005 to care for her husband.
Theresa will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother and Memere. Her family was her life and everyone who knew her and loved her will miss her greatly.
She was a proud mother of 5, a grandmother of 12 and a great-grandmother of 14. She enjoyed playing cards, the beach, family gatherings, dancing, dining out, and attending may Senior Citizen Activities.
She was the widow of the late Jean-Claude Demers and the mother to the late Arleen (Nault) Whiting who died in 2011.
She is survived by daughters, Carole Morin and her companion Robert Avila of Methuen, Lillian and her husband James Michaud of Methuen, her sons, Rene and his wife Roseann Demers of Ossipee, NH and Michel and his wife Lisa Demers of Selden, NY, son-in-law Robert Whiting of Ossipee, NH. Grandchildren: Shane and Jeremy Nault, Kurt Whiting, Crystal Demers Roach, Stephanie Demers Hall, Melissa Michaud Chirwa, Amanda Michaud, Philip Michaud, Amy Morin, Christian, Jesse, and Gianna Demers. Great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Ashley, Ryan, Chantelle, Arianna, Addison, Lacey, Ava, Reagne, Aiden, Aaron Jr. and Aubree, Connor and Daijah. She is also survived by siblings: Jules (Marcelle) Larocque, Marguerite Dubois, Paula Goudin, Fernand (Carol), George (Joyce) and Andy (Rosalie) Larocque, many nieces, nephews, cousins, Demers-in-laws and extended family and friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00AM in St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA. 01844. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
