Brennan, Edward J., age 91, of Braintree, formerly of Dorchester, passed away in his loving family's company on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Born in Boston, he was a Dorchester resident for many years before his move to Braintree. Retiring after a 40 year employment with the MBTA, Mr. Brennan was a former member of the Carmen’s Union # 589 as well as a Past Commander & longtime member of the Walsh Post, A.L., Dorchester and a former member of the VFW Post, Millis. He was a WW II Army veteran. The beloved husband of Barbara E. (McNamara), he is also survived by his devoted children; Edward, Jr. & his wife Peggy of Hingham, Stephen & his wife Catherine, Paul Brennan & his companion Catherine Durnin, all of Milton and Donna & Patricia Brennan both of Weymouth and 8 cherished grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of the late Alfred Brennan. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory Church, Dorchester Thursday at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday 4 to 8 PM. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 505 N Parkway, Memphis, TN 38103.
