Emilienne (Millie) Lafreniere, 95 of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on Christmas morning at the Community Hospice House. Millie was born in Quebec, Canada on November 18, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Eliza Morin; sister of Arthur Morin of Kingston, NH, Dezilda Bergeron of Methuen, MA and Pauline Bell of Salisbury, MA. She lived her life in Salem, NH with her predeceased husband, Joseph Lafreniere.
Millie was a spirited and beautiful woman, who was a homemaker and mother of 3 children. She enjoyed attending church, going to the beach with friends and family and most of all spending time with loved ones. “Nana” will be remembered as an adoring grandmother who spent countless hours throughout their childhood playing with and spoiling her grandchildren, whether it was hosting sleepovers, playing the organ, hatching baby chickens, cooking for them or playing card games.
Millie will be deeply missed by her daughter, Janet Reid and her husband, John of North Andover; daughter, Lynne Grady and her husband Steven Grady of Plaistow, NH; son, Larry Lafreniere of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Shannon Peterson, Shane Orem, Jaime Giddens, John Reid Jr. and Steven Grady Jr.; and 8 great grandchildren, Kenneth Lee, Jesse Lee, Wyatt Peterson, Olivia Orem, Andrew Orem, Abby Orem, Tyler Giddens and Grace Giddens.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Millie’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Monday, December 28, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Her funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 9:00 AM at Fellowship Bible Church, 1 Fellowship Way Methuen. Pastor Daniel Trepanier to officiate.
