Andover – Gloria F. (Clementi) Marchese, 84 of Andover, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Lawrence General Hospital. Gloria was born in Newburyport, MA on May 6, 1931, the daughter of Marco and Josephine (LaGrassa) Clementi. She was educated in Lawrence schools and graduated from Lawrence High School. She worked as a hairdresser for over 20 years and then as a rental agent for KG Associates in Lawrence for over 15 years until her retirement. In her free time, she loved painting as well as playing cards and Bingo. She also enjoyed traveling with her friends and sisters, especially to Atlantic City.
Gloria will be deeply missed by her daughter, Cara Scanlon and her husband, Colin of Andover; 3 sons, Mark Marchese of Andover, Patrick Marchese of Haverhill, and Charles Marchese of Lawrence; 4 grandchildren, Derek Scanlon, Alex Marchese, Alyssa Marchese, and Justin Marchese; 2 sisters, Mary and Rose Clementi, both of Andover; 2 brothers, Joseph Clementi and his wife, Thelma and Richard Clementi, both of Andover; several nieces and nephews; and the family dog, Halle.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Gloria’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 4 - 8 P.M. Her funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Mass., 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. The Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home is honored to serve the Marchese family.
