Obituary

OTTO HERMAN HEINZE JR.
Otto Herman Heinze Jr, went home to his Lord on Saturday at 9:34 AM December 19, 2015 at his home in Somerville surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with COPD and CHF.
Otto was born October 6, 1939 at his home on Florida Chapel Rd. He was baptized in the Waldeck Lutheran Church by Rev. Carl Baer and confirmed at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top by Rev. A. B. Weiss.
He graduated from the Round Top-Carmine Rural High School, and from there went on to serve his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Otto married his beautiful wife Sandra, on December 15, 1986 in Bandera, Tx. After working numerous jobs in different parts of the country, he decided to become a truck driver, which he enjoyed very much. In the beginning he hauled crude oil for Tesero petroleum, later he went to work for the foam pouring division driving a big rig for Leggett and Platt in Brenham, Tx. from which he retired in 2006. He enjoyed his job very much and logged approximately 3 million miles driving.
In 2004 he bought a house in the Birch Creek Forrest subdivision on Sommerville Lake where he enjoyed crappie fishing after he retired.
He loved fishing, cooking for his many friends, and traveling all over the countryside, especially going to the state of Hawaii, where he and his wife went on numerous occasions.
He is survived by his beautiful and gracious wife, Sandra Wernecke Heinze of Somerville, Tx., 2 step-sons, Gary Hoefelmeyer Jr., and David Hoefelmeyer of Brenham, Tx, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Clarence and Margie Wernecke Sr., of Somerville, Tx. Brother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law, Clarence and Bonge Wernecke Jr of LaPort, Tx. Cousins, Linda Lou Quade Makosky of Burton, Tx and Edith Heinze Untermeyer of Montgomery, Tx, Pauline Bordeaux of Missouri, and David Mullenbrat of Warren, Ark, and 6 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonie Quade Heinze and Otto Herman Heinze Sr., His cousin, John Lange, who was raised by Otto’s parents and was like a brother to him.
He also wanted to thank his caregivers, Susie Deshotel, Gary Hoefelmeyer, Cathaleen Perkins, and all the great and wonderful people at Tradition’s hospice.
He was very loved and will be missed dearly.
Visitation with the family present will be Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top.
