Mrs. Lorraine S. (Sawyer) McAree, a longtime resident of Andover and Boca Raton, Florida and beloved wife of William L. McAree, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015. She was 87 years old.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, on April 27, 1928, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Rose (LaPlante) Sawyer. Mrs. McAree was a graduate of the Lowell Commercial College and had been the Treasurer for the William L. McAree Insurance Co., Inc. for many years. Lorraine devoted herself in extraordinary fashion and commitment to her family. Her eyes always lit up whenever her daughters or grandchildren, John and Kristen, were in her presence. She provided countless hours of fun, love, and support. In her spare time, Lorraine enjoyed traveling with her husband, William, with whom she shared a beautiful and loving marriage for sixty three years. She was an avid and expert Bridge and Card player, gracefully integrating competition, fun, and togetherness. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her beloved husband William, Lorraine is survived by her loving daughter's; Lisa McAree of Charlestown and Susan McAree & her husband Karl Kraus of Medford and Sandwich, son-in-law; Michael Harding of Methuen, sister; Annette Perreault of New Hampshire, grandchildren; John Harding and his wife Sarah and Kristen Harding and her partner Dan Beauchemin, step-grandchildren; Will & Zephan Kraus, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the loving mother of the late Joan M. Harding and sister of the late Lillian Martin.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment will be privately held.
