Obituary

WEBSTER - Claire M. (Isabelle) Malley, 83, passed away in her home on Friday, December 4, 2015. Her husband and love of her life of 60 years, Edward J. Malley, died in 2012.
She leaves two sons, John E. “Jack” Malley and his wife Deborah of Walpole, and Steven M. Malley of Warwick, RI; two grandchildren whom she adored, Kenneth T. Malley and Elizabeth H. Malley; her sister and friend, Dorothy M. Wesgan of Webster; a brother, Henry R. “Hank” Isabelle of North Uxbridge; a sister-in-law, Mary Malley of South Grafton, three godchildren, Patricia Baker, Ellen Hatfield and Debra Montague; many cherished nieces and nephews; close friends and her parish and chapel families.
She was born in North Uxbridge on May 4, 1932, the oldest daughter of the late Henri and Jeanne (Brochu) Isabelle. She attended Good Shepherd Elementary School in Linwood and St. Mary’s High School in Milford.
Claire worked in the textile mills of Uxbridge. She was also a certified nursing assistant and a clerk at the Putnam Card & Gift Shop and then at Webster Discount Drug before retiring.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was a co-founder of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel which opened in 1996 and until 2011 was involved, along with her husband, in its daily operation. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and a past member of the Circle of Charity. She volunteered at parish festivals and also helped with the annual Partners in Charity Campaign. At one time, she was a member of the St. Anne School Association and of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. Since 1991, she has been a Eucharistic Minister to the sick and homebound. She was the caregiver to her parents in their final years.
Being a wife, mother and homemaker were her top priorities. She loved family gatherings. She said that her sons were her greatest gift from God. Her faith meant so much to her.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, December 9, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a concelebrated Mass at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. After a luncheon, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Uxbridge. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 8, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 17 East Main St., Webster, MA 01570.
