Joseph V. Bottari, age 99, of Milton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Boston, he was a graduate of English High School and studied Public Relations and Sales Management at Boston University. Mr. Bottari served with the Navy during WW II. A retired Public Relations Manager, he was involved throughout his career in advertising, employee & customer relations, and sales promotions among other functions. He was a former employee of Fulton Packing Co., Boston, Edgcomb Steel of N.E., Inc, New Hampshire, Harvard Brewing Co., Lowell and Whiting Milk Co., Boston. He was appointed by several MA Governors as the Commissioner of the Commonwealth Outdoor Advertising Board. Mr. Bottari also served as a Past President and member of the Board of Directors of Home Inc., Milton. The beloved husband of the late Cosma M. (Celi) Bottari, he is survived by his devoted children, Joseph V., Bottari, III of Methuen, Janice A. Jeanneault & Joan Lunt, both of Scituate, Grace M. Lee of Jupiter, FL, Constance McWade of Hull, and Joyce Farquharson of Manhattan, his 12 cherished grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Leo Bottari. Visiting will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 closing with a Funeral Service at 11 am. Burial at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary of the Hills Church, 29 St. Mary’s Rd., Milton, MA 02186.
