Bellingham, MA - Helena Frances (Baldwin) Hurley, a Framingham resident for 61 years, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Bellingham on November 24, 2015 at the age of 91.
She was born in Everett, the daughter of the late Felix E. Jr. and Anna (Burke) (Baldwin) Lanzo and was a loving, devoted wife and caretaker of the late William E. Hurley Jr., having shared 63 years of marriage.
A graduate of Chelsea High School, 1941, she completed courses at Bryant and Stratton School of Business in Boston and enjoyed a long career as a Full-Charge Bookkeeper.
She was passionate about her Faith and served as a C.C.D. teacher and secretary of church social clubs. Her proudest moment was her appointment to be an Eucharistic Minister at St. George Church, Framingham. Helen enjoyed helping and meeting people and made every effort to remember your name because “a name is special.” her footprints are, indeed, in the sand...
A loving, devoted and selfless mother to her only daughter, Kathy A. (Hurley) Fortin and her husband Matt of Bellingham. Cherished Granny to Matthew William Fortin of Woonsocket, RI and Michelle Helena-Rose Fortin of Bellingham - both of whom she adored.
In addition, Helen is survived by her sister Mary (Lanzo) Christopher of Revere and sister-in-law Theresa Splaine of North Carolina, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 74 School St., Framingham, on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. No calling hours and burial will private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham.
