Obituary

Laconia----Jean B. Landroche, 93, died peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at St. Francis Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Born on August 14, 1922 in Grantham, NH to Jerry and Marion (Putnam) Bolton, Jean grew up in Beebe River, New Hampshire and attended Plymouth High School where she excelled in school and was active in many extracurricular activities, representing the State of New Hampshire at the National DAR Conference in 1938.
After earning a bachelor's degree from Plymouth State College in 1944, Jean began a teaching career spanning 40 years in the elementary and middle school classroom. She retired in 1983 from Gilford Middle School where her students and colleagues still fondly recall her passion for education.
Upon her retirement, Jean enjoyed gardening, writing poetry, watching New England sports teams, and discussing politics. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Jean married Alphonse “Chuck” Landroche in 1944, and together they raised seven children. Dedicated teachers and very active in the Laconia community and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Jean and Chuck were devoted parents who embraced family and friends with open arms and loving care. Her family will remember her warmth, optimism and unwavering support and love.
Jean is survived by four sons and three daughters: Alphonse "Chuck" Landroche and his wife Donna of Old Saybrook, CT, Theodore "Ted" Landroche and his wife Debbie of Concord, Patrick Landroche and his wife Kathy of Manchester, Michael Landroche and his wife Candy of Tilton, Geraldine " Jerry" Sawyer and her husband Roger of Gilford, Marie Landroche of Gilford, and Theresa Kennett and her husband Bayard of Conway, NH.
She is also survived by her sister, Joanne Graham and her husband Peter, ten grandchildren; Peter John, Jim, JB, Liz, Ted, Tanner, Lauren, Ashley, Jennifer and Patrick; and twelve great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Chuck, two sisters, Betty Mills and Dorothy Colpitts, her son-in-law, Vance Gaul, and her grandson, Chip Kennett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. , Monday, November 30, 2015 at St. Andre Bessette Parish -St. Joseph Church 30 Church Street, Laconia NH 03246.
A private burial will follow in the family lot at St. Lamberts Cemetery, Laconia NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the LRGH Wellness Center, 22 Strafford St., Laconia, NH 03246 or Franklin VNA & Hospice, 75 Chestnut Street, Franklin, NH 03235.
