BURKE, Francis E. “Frank” of Winthrop, formerly of East Boston and Lynn, passed away on November 20, 2015. He was 84. He was the cherished son of the late John J. Burke Sr. and Mary O. (MacCormick) Burke. Loving brother of Robert “Bob” Burke and his wife Grace and Carol A. Burke all of Winthrop and the late John J. Burke Jr., Rita DiSilvio and her husband Frank and Theresa M. Davis and her husband Walter. Fond uncle of Karen, Joseph, Robert, Frank and Michael. Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. Winthrop, on Sat., Nov 28, from 9-11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. John the Evangelist Church-Winthrop at 11:30am. Francis served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War with a rank of Seaman 2nd Class.
