With heavy hearts we would like to share that Donald John Barber, 81, of Sandwich, MA, formerly of Andover, died on November 23, 2015. Devoted husband of Ann T. (Sheehan) Barber. Loving father of Beth and her husband Garry Lewellen of Bluff Dale, TX, and Bonnie and her husband Andrew Hochberg of Newton, MA . Proud grandfather of Mark and Liza Hochberg. Brother to seven siblings, survived by Jean Townsend, Ken Barber, and Richard Barber, predeceased by Hank Barber, William Barber, Janet Bouret and Ruth Condon. Donald was a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Donald and Ann, who were together since the age of 13, were both graduates of Natick High School Class of 1952, where he played baseball, basketball and football (quarterback and captain senior year) and she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Donald went on to serve in the Army and became a proud and dedicated graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. As a founder of Associated Industries of Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company, Donald worked tirelessly to provide a caring and supportive work environment for his many committed employees.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday, November 27th at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common.
Visiting hours are Friday morning beginning at 9:00 AM.
Internment St. Patrick Cemetery.
