William Freitas, Jr., 72, of Westport died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Madeleine J. (Boucher) Freitas. Born in Fall River, he was son of the late William and Hilda (Miranda) Freitas. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, Mr. Freitas was a firefighter for the City of Fall River. He was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
Including his wife, survivors include a son: Dr. William P. Freitas and his wife Rebecca of N. Kingstown, RI; a sister: Deborah Dean and her husband John of Naples, ME; 3 grandchildren: Hunter, Ellsie and Griffin Freitas; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Jacqueline Farrell.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:30 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 5 - 8 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
