Obituary

RAYNHAM – Joseph A. Sousa, husband of Juliana (Borges) Sousa, died in his family home in Raynham on Nov. 21, 2015.
He was 77.
Born in Santa Maria, Azores, he was the son of the late Arthur and Helena (Batista) Sousa.
He was an original founder of the BABS Foundry, and in his later years he retired from the former James Ferreira & Sons Co. of Canton in 2000.
A former member of the Taunton Sports Club, he was a soccer enthusiast and played goalie for the team.
During his free time he enjoyed fishing with his friends and family.
In his later years, he enjoyed vacationing at his summer home in the Anjos of Santa Maria.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Steven Sousa and his wife Susan of Middleboro; a daughter, Michelle LeClerc and her husband Robert of Raynham; a brother, Arthur L. Cabral of Taunton; a sister, Maria Jose Luz of Taunton; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Shane Sousa, and Zachary, Andrea and Joseph LeClerc; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Ana Vitalia Roth.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Nov. 28th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 27th from 5 to 8 p.m.
