Gerald (“Jerry”) was Born in Mattapan, on July 12, 1924.
Predeceased by his loving wife Joan (McSweeney), survived by his children, Judy of Beverly, Gerald T., Jr. and his wife Kathy of Cataumet , Jane and Thomas Lanagan of Medfield, Joanne and Michael Ryan of Westwood, Jack and former wife Pamela of Grafton, Julie and her partner Harley Blettner of Manchester by the Sea, Janine and Richard Lawlor of Walpole, Jody and William Brady of Walpole, Jennifer and Michael McLaughlin of Walpole and Joseph of West Roxbury. He leaves 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Survived by brother John Theodore of Springfield. Predeceased by his sister Mary O’Connell, and brothers, Edward and Donald.
A graduate of Bentley College. Founder of G. T. Reilly & Company Certified Public Accountants. Past President of The South Shore Chamber of Commerce, Quincy Rotary Club (awarded Paul Harris Fellowship), Director of The Family Counseling and Guidance Centers, Inc., and affiliated with numerous additional civic organizations.
Knighted by his Holiness Pope John Paul II as a Knight of St. Gregory. Former member of St. Theresa Holy Name Society, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Omega Beta Society of Bentley College, Neighborhood Club of Quincy and the Algonquin Club of Boston. Life member of the Silver Star Chapter of Disabled American Veterans. Veteran of the United States Coast Guard, World War II.
An avid golfer, past President and longtime member of Charles River Country Club of Newton. Former member of Quail Ridge Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his devoted family and friends.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St., West Roxbury, on Saturday, November 28, at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
