Paul F. Leonard age 83 of Canton passed away from complications of Dementia November 22nd at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston. Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton, graduated from Canton High Class of 1950 and was a lifelong resident of the town. He was the owner and operator of Paul’s Variety Store in Canton for many years. He also previously worked as a waiter at the Lord Fox in Foxboro and after he sold the variety store he worked at Shaw’s Market in Canton and Sharon for 25 years. He was a parishioner and usher at the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton for many years. He is survived by his loving and grateful niece, who he helped raise, Elizabeth Leonard Zeolla and her husband Bob of Canton. Beloved son of the late Elizabeth (McCabe) and Thomas Leonard. Brother of Robert Leonard and his wife Mary of Norwood and the late Thomas and John Leonard. Also survived by his niece Susan Leonard of Norwood, several other nieces and nephews and extended family members. Relatives and friends invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-7 pm. The visitation will be concluded by a prayer service. Burial private. Veteran United States Army. Donations may be made in his memory to the Richard A. Stein Animal Shelter 150R Bolivar St. Canton, MA 02021.
