Obituary

KELLY, Ronald J. With heavy hearts we’d like to share that Ronald J. Kelly passed away on November 19, 2015. For those who’ve had the joy to know Ronnie, these hearts are left heavy with love, laughter and an abundance of understanding; something that wasn’t always believed in when he joined us in 1955 with Down Syndrome. He showed the world that Down Syndrome was just another way of life, and paved a way for youths to come. In Ronnie’s many years taught us the true meaning of love - he taught us to care, to dream, and to enjoy life. He loved Elvis, a cold beer, and sailing in Marina Bay with his Dad... but what he loved most was his family. He’s leaving seven nieces and nephews; Ryan, Lisamarie, Christopher, Timothy, Alexandra, Joseph and Alyssa to continue to share the open heartedness and love he gave to them through his brothers Michael, Paul, Dennis and their loved ones. He’ll also be leaving his friends at Riverside, that he cared dearly for. He’ll continue to spread his joy for many years to come and would love for those close to share his life by donating to the Special Olympics in his honor. Ronnie extends his open arms for all to celebrate his life and reunion with his parents, Joseph and Margaret with a celebration on Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, from 8:30-9:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Chrysostom Church, West Roxbury at 10am. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
