Ruby Kathleen Williams, age 83, of Louisville, KY, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
She was born on September 24, 1932 in Grayson County, KY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Dora Ausbon Farris.
She was a housewife, who enjoyed sewing, gardening, singing in the choir, and attending church at Broadway Missionary Baptist Church, where she had been a member for 47 years.
She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, JD Williams of Louisville, KY; a son, Darrell Williams (Pam) of Corydon, IN; three daughters, Betty O’Bryan (Michael) of Shepherdsville, KY, Milita Chilton of Louisville, KY, and Evonne Mayfield (Ken) of Mt. Washington, KY; two sisters, Linda Sadler and Mary Cave of Leitchfield; one brother, Randall Farris of Roundhill; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Edward Farris and two sisters, Eveline Childress and Pauline McCormick.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. CST Tuesday, (November 24, 2015) at the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church in Leitchfield. Burial will be in the Leitchfield Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be at the Owen Funeral Home (5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216) from 2:00 p.m. EST to 8:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 12:00 p.m. CST to 8:00 pm. CST on Monday, and at the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. CST until time of services.
